General Introduction

This 5-day hands-on course introduces students to drone technology through a mix of theory and practical experience. From understanding UAV history and components to designing 3D parts, coding with Scratch and Python, and completing real flight missions, students will gain a strong foundation in modern drone systems and applications.

Course Curriculum

  • Section 1: Drone Basics & Aerodynamics (Day 1)
    Explore drone history, types, and applications while gaining practical experience through indoor flight and understanding fundamental aerodynamic principles that govern UAV behavior.
  • Section 2: Flight Systems & 3D Design (Day 2)
    Learn flight dynamics and UAV hardware components, then apply 3D modeling skills to design and print custom drone parts through hands-on practice.
  • Section 3: Coding & Simulation (Day 3)
    Build foundational programming skills using Scratch and Python while practicing flight control through simulators to prepare for automated UAV operations.
  • Section 4: Advanced Coding & Flight Controller System (Day 4)
    Develop advanced Python scripts integrating AI algorithms, fine-tune flight parameters with Mission Planner, and analyze flight logs to optimize drone performance.
  • Section 5: Flight Testing & Showcase (Day 5)
    Conduct manual flight training with DJI Mini, refine flight controller settings, and collaborate on a final drone light show project culminating in a certificate ceremony.
