- Eligible Applicants:
- Must be a Primary Producer responsible for input costs for a crop, bee, or livestock operation that produces at least $25,000 worth of farm commodities annually.
- Must not be a landlord whose only interest in a crop, bee, or livestock operation is ownership of the land.
- Must either have a valid and current Alberta Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) certificate or completion letter or obtain one before the end of the Project Term.
- Eligible Activities:
- Refer to the Farm Technology Program Funding List for eligible expenses.
- Ineligible Expenses:
- Also listed in the Farm Technology Program Funding list.
Funding:
Eligible expenses will be cost-shared at a 50% grant and 50% applicant ratio.
- Funding is not guaranteed until your application has been approved.
- All expenses incurred prior to April 1, 2023, are ineligible.
To be reimbursed for expenses, successful applicants must fulfill certain conditions:
- Invoices must be under the Legal Name stated on your application and dated after April 1, 2023.
- Proof of payment is required for all invoices.
- Cash payments are not eligible unless accompanied by an official company voucher.
- Leased items must be paid in full by the applicant, with proof of transaction.
- Barter or exchange transactions are not eligible.
- Transactions between related parties are not eligible.
How to Apply:
The current application intake closed on December 22, 2023. Programming will resume in April 2024, under Year 2 of Sustainable CAP. Follow these steps when the application process reopens:
- Check Your Eligibility: Review the Farm Technology Program Terms and Conditions and ensure that your proposed activities align with the program’s objectives.
- Complete Application Form: Fill out and sign the Farm Technology Program Application form.
- Submit Application Form: Send the completed application form and supporting documents via email (PDF format) to s-cap.ftp@gov.ab.ca or by mail to the address provided.
