UAV Training program with AUAU is eligible to apply for The Canada-Alberta Job Grant ( Canada-Alberta Job Grant )

Our partnership with the Canada-Alberta Job Grant opens doors to individuals seeking to upskill and advance their careers through our UAV training program. Through the CAJG, eligible participants can receive up to two-thirds of their training costs reimbursed, up to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee per fiscal year. For unemployed Albertans, the potential for reimbursement extends even further, covering up to 100% of training costs, up to $15,000 per trainee. Employed Albertans can also benefit, with the potential to receive up to 70% reimbursement.
Training Course Coverage
Eligible training costs covered by the CAJG include various elements such as
- Mandatory student fees
- Textbooks
- Tuition fees
- Software
- Examination fees
- Other required materials. Even approved travel costs are covered under this program.

Application Process
- First, students need to submit a CAJG (Canada-Alberta Job Grant) application through the online portal.
- Second, after the training has been completed, a Training Completion form must be submitted to receive payment. It’s crucial to apply before the training begins and at least 30 days before the start date.
Students Eligibility
To participate in the training program, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Residency: Individuals must be residing in Alberta.
- Categories: They should belong to one of the following categories: a. Employed Trainees b. Unemployed Trainees c. Employed Family Members d. Business Members with four or fewer employees, including all owners.
- Citizenship/Status: Trainees must be one of the following: a. Canadian Citizens b. Permanent Residents of Canada c. Individuals protected under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada)
- Work Authorization: Trainees must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.

Employer Eligibility
To be considered eligible employers for the program, they must meet the following criteria:
- Location and Operation: The employers should be based and actively operating in Alberta.
- Types of Organizations: Eligible employers encompass private businesses, non-profit organizations, First Nations & Métis Settlements, Agricultural Financial Services Corporation, and ATB Financial.
- Job Position Availability: Employers must have a current or new position available in Alberta for the trainee upon completion of the training.
- Employment Intent: Employers must demonstrate their intention to hire or continue employing the trainees once they successfully complete the training.

Training Program Eligibility
It can include various options such as training to improve the performance of existing or new students in their roles, pre-apprenticeship/pre-employment training, or high school completion courses. Please read Canada-Alberta Job Grant Applicant Guide for more information.
To qualify for CAJG funding, the training program must satisfy certain requirements:
- Minimum Instructional Hours: The training should comprise a minimum of 21 instructional hours.
- Eligible Training Provider: The training must be conducted by an eligible training provider recognized by the CAJG.
- Timely Start: The training must commence within six months from the date of application approval.
- Completion Timeline: The entire training program must be completed within 52 weeks, starting from the commencement date of the first training course mentioned in the application.
- Recognized Credential: Successful completion of the training should result in the trainee attaining a recognized form of credential or certification.
- Instructor Interaction: The training program must involve interaction with an instructor, ensuring a structured learning experience for the trainees.
